For the first time, the Department of Planning and Environment had a one-stop planning stall at Sydney Royal Easter Show from 6th to 19th April.

Over 14 days, 81 staff offered tips to save the show goers time and money. The stall focused on the complying development approval pathway for building and renovating homes. We also gave a sneak peek to our soon to be launched online tools to help meet building and renovating needs.

Minister of Planning and Environment, Anthony Roberts and Better Homes and Gardens’ Jason Hodges stopped by at our stall to chat with them about complying development and renovation.

Show goers had the opportunity to win a $500 hardware voucher by sharing their best renovating tip in 25 words or less. Out of 113 competition entrants, J Elder won the prize with this renovating tip, “Leave it to the experts, read the instructions, make sure you have the correct Allen key”.

Thank you all for visiting us at the Show! The show’s over for this year but continue to build your dream home by finding out more about complying and exempt development and our online planning tool.
