The Martin Place proposal from Macquarie Group is for the creation of a transport and employment precinct at Martin Place.

In March 2018, the NSW Government approved the Stage 1 State significant development (SSD) application for two commercial towers above the northern and southern entrances of the future Martin Place Metro Station, which includes:

  • a new 40+ storey building at the northern end that will join with the existing Macquarie Bank building at 50 Martin Place
  • a new 28+ storey building at the southern end.

More information on the proposal is available on our major projects website.

The next step in the development process is for the Applicant to seek approval of the detailed design of both buildings through ‘Stage 2’ State significant development applications. Once submitted, these applications will once again be exhibited and assessed by the Department.
