We are working with local councils, agencies and communities to help provide new homes in the north west of Sydney that are close to jobs, parks, schools and services.
The Department worked closely with Blacktown City Council and stakeholders to take a coordinated approach to planning for new homes and essential infrastructure, to meet community needs in Colebee.
Releasing land for housing means Sydneysiders will have access to a range of homes that suit different needs, budgets and lifestyle choices. It also helps to place downward pressure on housing prices.
The new revitalised community at Colebee will benefit from up to 1,000 new homes which are close to transport, parks, shops and schools.
The first development in Colebee was a combined 18-hole golf course (on 93 hectares) and the Stonecutters Ridge residential development.
Priority Growth Area
Colebee is part of the North West Priority Land Release Area.
Colebee was rezoned in May 2005 through Blacktown City Council’s Local Environment Plan
process, and new planning controls were introduced to enable urban development.
For more information about zoning and current planning controls, please contact Blacktown City Council on 02 9839 6000.
