Introduction

We are working with local councils, agencies and communities to help provide new homes in the north west of Sydney that are close to jobs, parks, schools and services.

Overview

The Department worked closely with Blacktown City Council, stakeholders and the community to take a coordinated approach to planning for new homes and essential infrastructure, to help meet local community needs

Releasing land for housing means Sydneysiders will have access to a range of homes that suit different needs, budgets and lifestyle choices.  It also helps to place downward pressure on housing prices.

The new revitalised community at Cudgegong Road (Area 20) will benefit from 4,400 new homes close to jobs and transport options, such as the new Cudgegong Road Station on the Sydney Metro North West Line which is due to open in 2019.

Priority Growth Area

Cudgegong Road (Area 20) is part of the North West Priority Land Release Area

Precinct plan

Some of the planning controls that were finalised in October 2011 have been updated so the new community can take advantage of the new Cudgegong Road Station on the Sydney Metro North West Line. For more information please refer to the following:
