We are working with local councils, agencies and communities to help provide new homes in the north west of Sydney that are close to jobs, parks, schools and services.
The Department worked closely with Blacktown City Council, stakeholders and the community to take a coordinated approach to planning for new homes and essential infrastructure, to help meet local community needs
Releasing land for housing means Sydneysiders will have access to a range of homes that suit different needs, budgets and lifestyle choices. It also helps to place downward pressure on housing prices.
The new revitalised community at Cudgegong Road (Area 20) will benefit from 4,400 new homes close to jobs and transport options, such as the new Cudgegong Road Station on the Sydney Metro North West Line which is due to open in 2019.
Cudgegong Road (Area 20) is part of the North West Priority Land Release Area
The amended State Environmental Planning Policy (Sydney Region Growth Centres) 2006 and maps are available on the NSW legislation website.
