Promoting Economic Growth and Competition through the Planning System
In May 2009, the Department of Planning and the Better Regulation Office released a discussion paper to facilitate discussion on what elements of the NSW planning system promote or detract from opportunities for competition and economic growth.
This review is one of a number of NSW Government’s initiatives aimed at ensuring that the planning system remains responsive to changing demands and facilitates sustainable investment in the State.
The final report was released in April 2010 and a draft State Environmental Planning Policy was prepared and placed on exhibitionfor public comment.
