Priority Infrastructure Fund

The $50 million Priority Infrastructure Fund has been established as a transitional measure for 2010/11 and 2011/12 to assist NSW councils to fund public amenities and public services.
 

Eligible Applicants

Councils eligible to apply for Priority Infrastructure Funding are NSW councils that have:
  •  local contributions plans including a development contribution level per residential lot or per dwelling that exceeds the $30,000 cap for greenfield areas or the $20,000 cap for all other areas;
  •  submitted relevant contributions plans to the Independent Pricing and Regulatory Tribunal (IPART) for review in accordance with the Environmental Planning and Assessment Regulation 2000 and the Department of Planning’s Practice Note for Assessment of Local Contributions Plans by IPART; and
  • received IPART’s advice on the appropriate development contribution level.
     

Closing date

Applications for the first round of funding will close on 31 May 2011.
 
Prior to submitting the Funding Application forms, councils must have submitted their contributions plans to IPART for review in time for IPART to have completed its review. For Funding Period 1, councils should submit their contribution plans to IPART by 28 January 2011.
