- Ammunition wharf and facility at Twofold Bay
- Decision: Approved 17 December
- Description: A proposal by Department of Defence and Waterways Authority of New South Wales to develop a multi-purpose wharf on the south side of Twofold Bay within East Boyd Bay, along with a naval ammunitioning facility.

- Food processing plant
- Decision: Approved 1 December
- Description: A proposal by Parle Foods Pty Ltd to construct and operate a food processing plant and associated facilities on land in Crawford Road, Willbriggie, about 10 kilometres south of Griffith. The proposed plant will cost about $50 million to establish, process up to 200,000 tons of fruit and vegetables a year, and employ a total of 230 people at full production.

- Woodlawn waste management facility
- Decision: Approved 30 November
- Description: A proposal by Collex Waste Management Pty Ltd to construct and operate a putrescible landfill facility and associated intermodal facility near the township of Tarago in the Mulwaree local government area.

- Silicon smelter
- Decision: Approved 2 November. The consent has a deferred commencement date.
- Description: A proposal by Australian Silicon Pty Ltd to construct and operate a silicon smelter near Wallerawang, in the Greater Lithgow local government area.

- Quartz mine
- Decision: Approved 2 November 2000
- Description: A proposal by Australian Silicon Pty Ltd to construct and operate a quartz mine at Glenella, in the Cowra local government area.

- Antiene joint user rail facility
- Decision: Approved 2 November
- Description: A joint rail facility project proposed by Coal Operations Australia Ltd (COAL) and Drayton Coal Pty Ltd. While each applicant lodged a separate DA, a joint EIS was prepared. The project is located within the Muswellbrook local government area, about 8 kilometres south of Muswellbrook in the New South Wales Hunter Valley.

- Milk processing plant
- Decision: Approved 24 October
- Description: A proposal by Bovis Lend Lease to construct a milk processing factory at Sargents Road, Minchinbury in the Blacktown local government area.

- Ridgeway gold and copper mine
- Decision: Approved 3 September
- Description: A proposal by Cadia Holdings Pty Ltd to develop an underground gold and copper mine and surface facilities, including a dewatering plant. The site is about 25 kilometres outside the city of Orange, on the border of Blayney and Cabonne local government areas.

- Barina hard rock quarry extension
- Decision: Approved 8 September
- Description: A proposal by Tiocliff Pty Ltd to continue operating, and to expand the existing Barina hard rock quarry in Gunning local government area.

- Description: A proposal by Concrite Quarries to extend its basalt quarrying operations at Exeter, Wingecarribee Shire.

- Decision: Approved 10 August 2000
- Description: A proposal to construct and operate a pulverised coal injection facility at the BHP Port Kembla Steelworks.

- Description: A proposal by Whitehaven Coal Mining Pty Ltd to develop an open cut coal mine, including on site processing and transportation at Narrabri.

- Sand extraction proposal
- Decision: Approved 31 May 2000
- Description: A proposal by Dr L. S. Martin to extract and process sand, clay and pebble material on a site at Roberts Road, Maroota in the Baulkham Hills Shire.The proposal also involves constructing a bund wall.

- Description: A proposal by Batson Sand and Gravel Pty Ltd to modify their original proposal, enabling the office and weighbridge to be relocated. The quarry is located in the Byron local government area.

- Description: A proposal by Roads and Traffic Authority to upgrade the Pacific Highway at Bonville near Coffs Harbour on the New South Wales North Coast. The approval is subject to the conditions outlined in the Department's Director-General's Report.

- Description: Modification of the approval given to Godfrey Spowers (New South Wales) Pty Ltd on 26 November 1999 to construct and operate a warehouse and distribution centre at Minchinbury in the Blacktown local government area.
