Media Release - Department of Planning Sydney: 13 February 2009 LATE SUBMISSIONS ACCEPTED FOR KINGS FOREST PROJECT The Department of Planning will be accepting late submissions on a proposal for a residential community and associated facilities at the Kings Forest site in Tweed shire, following the formal public exhibition period.
The proposal by Project 28 Pty Ltd is for creation of a residential community (including subdivision), an aged care facility, educational facilities, a village centre, a church, a service station, a golf course and club house, a neighbourhood centre and a regional community facility.
The public exhibition period finishes on Tuesday, 16 February, however in view of the community interest in the proposal, the Department will accept submissions until 2 March.
These will be provided to the proponent for response, which will be made publicly available.
The late submission period follows the public exhibition period of 61 days – well over the minimum 30 day exhibition period.
“The Department wants all parties to be able to have their say about this proposal, including those who have just learned about it, and therefore is clarifying that late submissions will be accepted,” the Department’s executive director of Major Projects Assessments, Chris Wilson said.
Information on the proposal can be viewed at http://majorprojects.planning.nsw.gov.au
