We’re working closely with the City of Canterbury Bankstown Council (formerly Bankstown City Council and Canterbury City Council) and Inner West Council (formerly Marrickville Council) and the local community to look at opportunities for more homes, jobs, better public spaces, shops and cafes that are within walking distance of the train stations between Sydenham and Bankstown.

The Department is currently reviewing submissions received in response to the public exhibition of the Draft Corridor Strategy which closed on 7 February 2016. We would like to thank everyone who completed the online survey or provided a submission.
The Department undertook further consultation through a series of workshops in May 2016, providing further opportunities for community feedback.
An amended draft strategy, incorporating feedback from the community, councils and other government agencies is expected to be released for public exhibition in late 2016, with a recommendation to the Minister likely to occur in 2017.
