Introduction
The Department of Planning has been acquiring the land for the Western Sydney Parklands corridor over the last 30 years as part of a long term strategy for Western Sydney.
The Department of Planning now owns over 90% of the Parklands as well as land designated for residential purposes at nearby Doonside and land designated for employment purposes at nearby West Huntingwood. The Doonside and West Huntingwood developments are managed by Landcom, on behalf of the Department of Planning.
The government will establish the Western Sydney Parklands Trust to govern the ongoing development and management of the Parklands.
