- Share:
On 7 December 2018, the Department issued a fire safety order to the owner of the building at 9 Baywater Drive, Wentworth Point, to remove all identified external wall panels on the building consisting of aluminium composite panels (ACP). ACP are combustible and pose a fire safety risk. The ACP on the subject building are over 2 stories and between windows and around balconies. The owner is required to replace the ACP with a non-combustible product and provide an inspection report issued by an accredited certifier, certifying that the replacement panels and method of installation comply with the Building Code of Australia. The fire safety order also included interim measures to reduce fire safety risks associated with the cladding until the rectification work is complete. The owner must ensure interim measures are in place to mitigate the fire safety risk by no later than 15 February 2019, until the rectification works are complete.
UPDATE: September 2020 – the works required under this order have now been completed
