On 4 December 2018, the Department issued a fire safety order to the owner of the building at 32 Cricketers Arms Road, Prospect, to remove identified aluminium composite panels (ACP). ACP are combustible and pose a fire safety risk. The ACP on the subject building are located at the entrance and the western side as diagonal feature elements. The owner is required to replace the panels with a non-combustible product and provide an inspection report issued by an accredited certifier, certifying that the replacement panels and method of installation comply with the Building Code of Australia. The owner of the building has been working with the Department to address this issue, ensuring the safety of occupants is maintained. The owner has confirmed that the interim measures are in place to mitigate the fire safety risk until the rectification works are complete.

UPDATE: January 2019 – the works required under this order have now been completed
