On 4 December 2018, the Department issued a $15,000 Penalty Notice to Crudine Ridge Wind Farm Pty Ltd, for failing to complete road upgrades prior to the commencement of construction at the Crudine Ridge Wind Farm site, located south of Mudgee. Upgrades to Aarons Pass Road were required to have been completed prior to the commencement of construction to ensure the safety of other road users during the construction period.

During a site inspection, construction of a number of internal access roads and other construction works were observed to have commenced at the site prior to Aarons Pass Road upgrades having been completed. CWP Renewables, the company undertaking the development, provided an Enforceable Undertaking to the Department to cease construction of the wind farm until it completes the necessary road upgrade works. The Department will continue to monitor compliance with the Enforceable Undertaking.
