On 30 January 2019, the Department issued a fire safety order to the owners of the building at 45 Bowman Street, Pyrmont, to remove all identified external wall panels on the building consisting of aluminium composite panels (ACP). ACP is combustible and poses a fire safety risk. The ACP on the subject building is on the northern and southern external walls of the building. The owner is required to replace the ACP with a non-combustible product and provide an inspection report issued by an accredited certifier, certifying that the replacement panels and method of installation comply with the Building Code of Australia. The owner has confirmed that interim measures have been implemented to reduce fire safety risks associated with the ACP until completion of the rectification works.

UPDATE: April 2021 – the works required under this order have now been completed.
