On 26 July 2019, the Department issued a fire safety order to the owners of the building at 69 Albert Avenue, Chatswood to install fire sprinklers to the underside of the level 6/7 awning of southern side of the building to mitigate the fire spread to the levels and external aluminium composite cladding above. The View tower has been assessed as a low risk given the sprinkler protection provided within the building. The owners are required to notify the Department on completion of the works and verify that fire sprinklers have been installed to all balconies and winter gardens of the building. The owners are required to continue to implement interim fire safety measures to reduce the fire safety risks associated with the cladding until work on fire sprinklers on level 6/7 is complete.
