  • temporary construction infrastructure such as construction adits, construction compounds and accommodation camps
  • excavated rock management including placement of excavated rock in Talbingo Reservoir and Tantangara Reservoir
  • ancillary infrastructure such as road upgrades and site access roads, water and wastewater treatment plants, and the provision of construction power.

Consultation and feedback

The Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) was on public exhibition until 6 November 2019.

The Department welcomed feedback from the community, government agencies and other stakeholders during the public exhibition period. This feedback helps us better understand the opinions and concerns of the community, which informs our assessment of the project.

The scoping report, SEARs, EIS and other project documents received by the Department to date are available on our Major Projects website.

The Department held a community information session on Thursday 17 October, to assist the local community to better understand the assessment process and how to make a submission on the proposal.

Next steps

Following the exhibition, the Department will publish all submissions received and ask Snowy Hydro to address any issues raised by the community, council and government agencies.

Snowy Hydro will prepare a Response to Submissions (RTS) report, which should address concerns or issues raised by the community, councils or government agencies during the exhibition period. The Department will publish the RTS on our Major Projects website.
