The Department has now received a detailed development application for Stage 2 of the Sydney Football Stadium redevelopment project. In this application, Infrastructure NSW (INSW) is seeking approval for the detailed design, construction and operation of the stadium, including:
Also proposed is the construction and establishment of a public domain at the site comprising hard and soft landscaping works, publicly accessible event and operational areas, public art, pedestrian and cycling facilities, signage zones and wayfinding signage strategy within the site, and lighting design. The Moore Park Carpark 1 (MP1) would be reinstated upon completion of construction works with 540 car spaces and direct access to the new stadium basement.
The Stage 2 application seeks approval for the operation of the stadium for the purpose of a range of sports and entertainment events.
The exhibition of the Sydney Football Stadium Stage 2 application ended on 24 July 2019.
The Department welcomed feedback from the community, government agencies and other stakeholders during public exhibition.
This feedback will help us better understand the opinions and concerns of the community, which will inform our assessment of the project.
The Department will soon publish all submissions received and ask INSW to address all issues raised by the community, council and government agencies.
INSW will prepare a formal Response to Submissions (RTS) report, which we will make publicly available.
The Department will then assess the project, which includes consideration of the Environmental Impact Statement (EIS), all submissions and community feedback, and the RTS.
All documents related to the Sydney Football Stadium Stage 2 development application are available on the Department’s Major Projects website.
