Sydney Metro lodged a State Significant Infrastructure (SSI) application for the Sydenham to Bankstown upgrade in 2017.
As part of the SSI assessment process, the Department of Planning placed the Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) on public exhibition during September – November 2017.
Sydney Metro then made changes to the proposal, which are reflected in the Submissions and Preferred Infrastructure Report (SPIR). The SPIR details changes made to the proposal exhibited in the EIS following its public exhibition in 2017.
The Department then placed the SPIR on exhibition and invited public comment between 20 June and 18 July 2018. Thank you to those who submitted feedback, your input will help inform our assessment of the project.

The Sydenham to Bankstown upgrade proposal is one of two parts of Sydney Metro City & Southwest.
The other component of City & Southwest is Chatswood to Sydenham, which received planning approval in January 2017.
