A proposal to construct a commercial and retail precinct at 185-195 Fifteenth Avenue, West Hoxton will be on exhibition from today for community feedback.

The Department of Planning and Environment is keen to hear the community’s views on the application which seeks approval for:

  • a commercial and retail precinct providing for a range of uses including a service station and child care centre (subject to future approval)
  • subdivision of the site into seven lots for future businesses and a residue lot for future subdivision, including an area set aside for a possible future road
  • demolition of existing building and structures
  • bulk earthworks
  • construction of new infrastructure including a private road.

A spokesperson for the Department of Planning and Environment said the local community always has an opportunity to share their views.

“Community consultation is an integral part of the planning process and the applicant will have to respond to the feedback we receive and this is taken into consideration when we develop our recommendations,” the spokesperson said.

“It’s easy to participate by going online and we encourage everyone to take a look and have their say.”
