The NSW Government has received a number of requests to extend the consultation period for the St Leonards Crows Nest draft planning package. It's important the community and each council has sufficient time to review the material and to prepare their submission. With the importance of the proposals in the draft Plan, and making sure the holiday period doesn't impact on the ability to review the draft Plan, an extension for submissions to be made until 8 February 2019 is appropriate.
The draft planning package also includes a rezoning proposal to facilitate an Integrated Station Development at Crows Nest Sydney Metro Station. This will enable the Crows Nest Metro station underground and the buildings above it to be built at the same time. The exhibition period for the Crows Nest Metro Station rezoning proposal will close on 3 December 2018 to enable the rezoning and the first stage of a State Significant Development application for the integrated station development to be progressed concurrently. There will be further opportunity for community feedback when the integrated station development application is released for public exhibition in late 2018.
All feedback will be considered to inform the next stage of the planning process.
