Under the existing framework, the repair or rebuild of infrastructure damaged or destroyed by the bushfires is permitted either with development consent, without development consent or as exempt or complying development under the State Environmental Planning Policy (SEPP) Infrastructure 2007.

 

The Infrastructure SEPP plays a key role in helping to deliver the NSW Government’s infrastructure works.

 

It assists private infrastructure providers, local councils and their communities by simplifying the process for building infrastructure such as hospitals, roads, railways, emergency services, water supply and electricity delivery.
