The NSW Government is working to improve the planning and approval process for manufactured homes and estates, caravan parks, and camping grounds.
In 2015, the Department with the Office of Local Government prepared a Discussion Paper to seek feedback on proposed improvements. The Discussion Paper was made available for public comment from 2 November 2015 to 14 December 2015.
The proposed improvements aim to:
There will be no impact on residents living in existing manufactured homes and estates, caravan parks, and camping grounds. Tenancy and management issues are set out in the laws administered by Department of Fair Trading.
A Discussion Paper was prepared to seek feedback on the proposed options for improving the planning and approvals system for manufactured homes and estates, caravan parks, and camping grounds. The Discussion Paper was made available for public comment from 2 November 2015 to 14 December 2015.

Thank you to everyone who provided feedback on the proposed options outlined in the Discussion Paper during the public consultation period (2 November 2015 to 14 December 2015).

Submissions have been made public in line with the Department’s objective to promote an open and transparent planning system.
All feedback will now be analysed and the results will be used to update the planning rules for manufactured homes and estates, moveable dwellings, caravan parks, and camping grounds.
