The Registered Environmental Assessment Practitioner (REAP) Scheme is part of the Rapid Assessment Framework, a suite of system improvements designed to increase the efficiency and quality of major project assessments.
The REAP Scheme provides environmental assessment quality assurance for State significant projects and supports informed and appropriate decision making.
The Scheme will implement new quality assurance measures, undertaken by registered practitioners, to improve the quality of environmental impact statements (EIS) submitted to the Department.
More information about the REAP Scheme, accredited schemes and the EIS declaration requirements can be found on the NSW Planning Portal and in the Registered Environmental Assessment Practitioner Guidelines.
For more information on the Rapid Assessment Framework, including commencement dates and transitional arrangements, refer to the planning circular (PS 21-005).
