Penalty Notice issued to NSW Department of Education

On 16 October 2025, NSW Planning issued a $15,000 Penalty Notice to the NSW Department of Education for failing to provide a Site Audit Statement prior to the commencement of operation of the New Wee Waa High School in Wee Waa. A Site Audit Statement verifies that a remediated area of land is suitable for the intended land use. NSW Planning will continue to monitor compliance with conditions of consent. The Site Audit Statement has subsequently been submitted.
Official Caution issued to Redisand Pty Ltd

On 29 October 2025, NSW Planning issued an Official Caution to Redisand Pty Ltd for failing to implement the approved Landscape Management Plan (LMP) at the Redisand Salt Ash Quarry. The LMP requires nest boxes, installed to compensate for the loss of up to 212 hollow bearing trees within the development site, to be maintained by a qualified fauna ecologist at least every 2 years. Redisand failed to undertake nest box maintenance as required by the LMP at any time during the 2022/23 period. A qualified fauna ecologist has since undertaken nest box maintenance.

On 17 October 2025, NSW Planning issued an Official Caution to the NSW Department of Education for failing to complete all required roadworks around the New Wee Waa High School prior to the commencement of operation. NSW Planning will continue to monitor to ensure all roadworks are completed.
