Minor release – 30 January 2026

This minor release includes enhancements to the NSW Planning Portal.

The following changes were made to NSW Planning Portal digital services.

• ‘Free Tree’ application service decommissioned. Applications archived and no longer visible from applicant’s dashboard.
• Introduction of a customer satisfaction survey sent to customer’s email address following the resolution of their Portal support request. This helps ensure the ongoing enhancement and improvement of Portal customer support services.
• Planning proposal applications including, Planning Proposals (submitted by the applicant or council), Planning Proposals S3.22, Rezoning Reviews, Gateway Reviews and Gateway Alterations, will be directed to one of the following Department of Planning, Housing and Infrastructure (DPHI) regions for assessment, review or alteration:
  • Hunter and Northern
  • Southern, Western and Greater Macarthur
  • North, East and Central Coast

This release included a minor fix to address the technical issue below.

• When an applicant changes ‘Does a NABERS Embodied Emissions Materials Form accompany this application?’ field answer from ‘Yes’ to ‘No on the ‘Submission’ screen within the Construction certificate service, the applicant progresses to the ‘Proposed development’ screen.
