Plans for a new distinctive building with retail and office space at Barangaroo South are now on exhibition for community consultation.
A seven-storey building made from recycled timbers, concrete, charcoal face bricks and a glass façade is proposed for the Barangaroo C1 site at the celebrated destination, on the western edge of the Sydney CBD.
The Department of Planning and Environment’s Executive Director for Key Sites, Anthea Sargeant, said the Department is very keen to hear the community’s views on the plans.
“We highly value community feedback, and will take it into consideration when assessing this new proposal. Anyone is welcome to come and look at the plans.”
Lend Lease has submitted a state significant development application for the new building at Hickson Road.
The proposal includes 726 square metres of retail shops on the ground floor and 11,022 square metres of commercial space on levels one to six.
An outdoor terrace on level six of the building is planned, along with solar panels on the roof.
There are also plans to use 18 car spaces and 35 bicycle spots in the approved basement below.
Submissions can be made until Friday 8 December 2017. To make a submission or view the Environmental Impact Statement for the proposal, visit www.majorprojects.planning.nsw.gov.au/page/on-exhibition/
