The Government Architect NSW was engaged by the Maritime Infrastructure Delivery Office within Transport for NSW to lead the collaborative development of an urban design-led strategic framework for Kiama Harbour.
The objectives of the action plan were to:
- determine potential infrastructure enhancements to improve outcomes for recreational and commercial vessel operators
- identify opportunities to enhance the connectivity of the harbour precinct to the Kiama town centre
- place the community at the centre of the vision-making process.
Following consultation with key stakeholders, the Kiama Harbour Revitalisation Action Plan (PDF, 7.2 MB) was published in November 2021 and identifies opportunities for future projects to renew and activate the harbour.
