St Leonards and Crows Nest

Priority growth areas and precincts

With a new Sydney Metro station opening in Crows Nest in 2024, there is an exciting opportunity to rejuvenate St Leonards and Crows Nest.

The St Leonards and Crows Nest - Planning Package offers new jobs, open space, infrastructure and homes to St Leonards and Crows Nest.

The Crows Nest Sydney Metro Station site will be key in bringing new businesses and employment opportunities to the area.

Crows Nest has been identified as an accelerated precinct under the Transport Oriented Development (TOD) program.

Telstra Exchange site state-led rezoning

The proposed state-led rezoning and State Significant Development (SSD) of the Telstra Exchange site at St Leonards was on public exhibition between Tuesday 30 January and Monday 26 February 2024.

Exhibition has now closed and we are reviewing the feedback the community and other stakeholders provided. The feedback we received will be summarised in a report detailing the key themes raised in submissions and this will be used to inform the rezoning finalisation. It is anticipated a finalisation update will be available in mid-2024.

This proposed rezoning and SSD assessment will be progressed concurrently with the accelerated rezoning of Crows Nest under the TOD program.
