Help us reimagine Warrawong Parklands
The Department is master planning 32 hectares of public open space on the Lake Illawarra foreshore at Warrawong as part of the Parks for People program.
The master plan aims to transform the site into a major public space that offers commercial, recreational, and tourism-related activities. The master plan will include a delivery framework and a clear vision for the park’s future.
We will be gathering feedback over 3 phases, with the final master plan to be delivered in September 2025. Your ideas and comments will help us prepare a draft master plan for the parklands.
You will be able to provide feedback on the draft master plan when we exhibit it in July 2025.
How we will develop the design
The parkland master plan will be developed in close collaboration with the local community, key stakeholders and design experts.
The master plan of the parkland has 3 phases:
-
Phase 1 – 18 November to 13 December 2024
We are committed to preserving the area’s unique environment and scenic beauty while creating sustainable ways for the community to connect with this special place. We sought your feedback to shape the future of Warrawong Parklands. Thank you for your valuable contributions.
-
Phase 2 – July 2025
We will share the initial concept design and draft master plan for further feedback. This phase is all about refining the vision based on community insights.
-
Phase 3 – September 2025
We will incorporate feedback from the community and key stakeholders to finalise the master plan.
There are no set designs for the parklands. We want to make sure that the environmental, cultural, and community values of the area are well understood before we start developing the master plan.
Location
Located on King Street Warrawong, near Lake Illawarra, and Kully Bay NSW, the 32 hectare site has direct access to open space parklands and water for recreation.
