Help shape the future of Warrawong Parklands
The NSW Government sought feedback on a draft master plan to transform the Warrawong Parklands into a world-class park for locals and visitors to connect, play, relax and enjoy nature. We will now incorporate feedback from the community and key stakeholders to finalise the master plan.
Key features exhibited in the draft plan included:
- nearly 10 km of new pedestrian and cycle paths, making the parklands more accessible and connected
- improved lake access, including a new water sports hub and lake steps to encourage safe interaction with the water
- a proposed Olympic-standard skatepark, upgraded sports fields, new inclusive playgrounds, and dedicated nature play areas
- a striking 320 m wetland boardwalk, offering scenic views and connecting key park features
- new spaces for cultural events, outdoor performances, and lakeside dining
- a strong focus on environmental restoration, including the planting of native plants and new trees, plus enhanced wetlands, birdwatching areas, and walking trails.

How we will develop the design
The parkland master plan will be developed in close collaboration with the local community, key stakeholders and design experts.
The master plan creation has 3 phases:
-
Phase 1

We are committed to preserving the area’s unique environment and scenic beauty while creating sustainable ways for the community to connect with this special place. We sought your feedback to shape the future of Warrawong Parklands. Thank you for your valuable contributions.
Discover the community’s big ideas from Phase 1 in our What We Heard Report (PDF, 298 KB).
