We acknowledge the traditional custodians of the land to which this plan applies. We pay our respect to Elders past and present of the Dharug, Gundungurra and Dharawal nations.
The Cumberland Plain Conservation Plan will enable growth in western Sydney to 2056 and beyond and delivers important development and biodiversity outcomes.
The plan will contribute to the western parkland city by supporting the delivery of housing, jobs and infrastructure while protecting important biodiversity, including threatened plants and animals.
Status of the plan
We are accepting applications for the first modification of the plan for minor amendments of certified-urban capable land and avoided land. Applications close on 30 June 2023.
We have released the draft Caring for Country Strategy to support the conservation plan and are seeking feedback from Aboriginal communities in western Sydney until 21 April 2023.
