Precinct Support Scheme

The Precinct Support Scheme (PSS) is a $85 million local infrastructure grants program which aims to support urban renewal and sustainable growth in planned precincts by providing funding for public and open space projects. As of July 2021, the program’s budget was fully committed.

Projects funded under PSS include:

  • public parks and open space improvements
  • streetscape and public safety improvements
  • local waterway rehabilitation and native revegetation
  • community facilities
  • planning and design.

Local councils were responsible for nominating projects for PSS funding, as well as managing all aspects of the project’s delivery. The Department of Planning and Environment assessed the nominations and manages the PSS program.

See Planning for local communities for more information on the planned precincts program.
