Rejuvenation and improved spaces are being planned for Burwood, Strathfield and Homebush.
Planning in the area will follow a collaborative approach. We will provide support and guidance to Canada Bay Council, Burwood Council and Strathfield Council in planning for the future of the precinct.
What happens next
The City of Canada Bay, Burwood Council and Strathfield Council are putting together a review and set of recommendations for planning in the area, as part of the work on the Councils’ Local Strategic Planning Statements. We will continue to work with all three councils throughout this process.
Once the reviews and recommendations are complete, council will release them to the community for feedback.
The outcomes from previous community consultation update (PDF, 495 KB) and a Place Score survey (PDF, 4.1 MB) have been provided to council to incorporate in the future plans for Burwood, Strathfield and Homebush.
Burwood, Strathfield and Homebush are among the 7 priority precincts that will support housing growth around heavy rail and metro stations for the Transport Oriented Development (TOD) program.
