The new Sydney Fish Market will be located at the head of Blackwattle Bay on Bridge Road, Glebe, within Blackwattle Bay. The site is adjacent to the existing fish market, located south east of Anzac Bridge at the intersection of Pyrmont Bridge Road and the Western Distributor.
Infrastructure NSW has submitted two State Significant Development applications seeking consent for a Concept Proposal and Stage 1 demolition works as well as a Stage 2 proposal for the construction of the new Sydney Fish Market.
The proposals are classified as State Significant Development as they have a Capital Investment Value (CIV) over $10 million.
The new Sydney Fish Market was approved by the Minister for Planning and Public Spaces in June 2020.
The project was approved under the Planning System Acceleration Program, introduced in response to the Government’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
