A proposal from Bluestone Capital Ventures to modify the Woolooware Bay Town Centre Concept Plan and Project Approval will be on exhibition from today for community feedback.

The Department of Planning and Environment is keen to hear the community’s views on the proposal which seeks to:

  • increase the gross floor area of the retail precinct from 26,743 to a maximum of 27,740, an increase of up to 1,267 square metres (five per cent) and increase the Leagues Club deck area
  • add a roof area over the upper car park level
  • remove the retail deck
  • change the internal building layout to include a child care centre
  • make changes to the external design of the building
  • straighten pedestrian link to connect Captain Cook Drive to the Woolooware Bay foreshore

A spokesperson for the Department of Planning and Environment said the local community always has an opportunity to share their views.

“Community consultation is an integral part of the planning process and the applicant will have to respond to the feedback we receive,” the spokesperson said.

“This feedback is taken into consideration when we develop our recommendations.

“It’s easy to participate by going online and we encourage everyone to take a look and have their say.”
