The Department undertakes rigorous assessment of major projects in NSW, including State Significant Developments (SSD) and follows strict guidelines in all assessments.
The Sydney Football Stadium redevelopment was assessed as an SSD application under the Environmental Planning and Assessment (EP&A) Act.

Infrastructure NSW (INSW) has sought planning approvals in two separate stages, the first being its demolition and a concept approval. The second stage application will detail the final built form and operation of a new stadium.
