Leppington Town Centre is located within the South West Growth Area and offers the opportunity to provide more new homes close to great public transport links.

Leppington Town Centre is on the T2 Airport, Inner West and South train lines. It takes around 45 minutes to reach the Domestic Airport terminal, and around 15 minutes to reach the Liverpool CBD by train from this precinct, making it highly suitable for the location of new homes, jobs and community services.

Precincts – a new approach

The Minister for Planning and Public Spaces has recently announced a new approach to precinct planning. This will mean a change of approach to planning for Leppington Town Centre.

Liverpool and Camden Councils will now take the lead planning for Leppington Town Centre with support from us. We will continue to work closely with Council on a plan for Leppington Town Centre in line with Council’s work program.

The Leppington Town Centre Investigation Boundary has been developed by taking into consideration the unique natural and built environment. The focus will now be on further investigations to review the land uses, including the scope for new homes and jobs close to the Leppington train station.

What's happened so far?

We exhibited the draft Stage 1 and supporting studies to the community in 2015 in collaboration with Camden Council.

We held an informal community drop-in sessions in 2017 to discuss the planning process and canvass community feedback and invited the community to take a survey about what they value about Leppington Town Centre and what they would like to see improve. The survey attracted more than 200 responses.
