A Special Infrastructure Contribution (SIC) is proposed to help fund new and upgraded infrastructure required to support growth and development in Rhodes.

A SIC ensures developers contribute to the cost of delivering infrastructure to support new homes and jobs in the area.

As part of the precinct planning process, work has already been done to identify the infrastructure needs for Rhodes. A decision on the potential for a SIC as a funding mechanism for infrastructure in Rhodes would be determined at the master planning stage.

Consultation and feedback

A revised draft Precinct Plan for Rhodes has been developed and exhibited by the Department in late 2018 to early 2019.

Following the finalisation of the draft Precinct Plan, a decision would be made on the Rhodes SIC.

Previous Rhodes East SIC (2017 - 2018 exhibition)

A draft SIC for Rhodes East was exhibited from 14 December 2017 to 16 March 2018.

The Department reviewed all submissions on the previous draft Rhodes East SIC.

Following the exhibition of the new draft Rhodes Precinct Plan in early 2019, the 2017/2018 submissions will be reconsidered to ensure a potential new SIC is aligned with the revised Precinct Plan.

All previously exhibited documents related to the Rhodes SIC are available on our Planning portal website.
