Developed as a collaboration between the Government Architect NSW and the Heritage Council of NSW, the guide will help owners, architects, consultants, and builders who are working on the buildings, sites and precincts that contribute to our heritage. It will help the government, organisations, and members of the community to understand the value and opportunity in our existing built environment and outlines the steps needed to ensure our heritage places are conserved, maintained and enhanced through good design.

Case studies

The Design Guide for Heritage is complemented by a set of case studies that show how principles of good design have been applied across a wide range of heritage contexts, scales and building types to meet a variety of briefs and requirements.
