Milky Way Duplex

Case study

70 Milky Way is inside the Western Sydney University Campbelltown campus, and is located on the corner of Milky Way and Australis Street. The development is on a corner block close to Main Ridge Park and The Campbelltown Rotary Observatory, and has been designed to capture views of both without impacting privacy.

There are one and 2-storey houses in the surrounding neighbourhood, so the duplex has been designed with similar scale and built form. The site’s landscaping also includes similar plants and trees to those already on the street. Large, overhanging balconies have been included in the duplex design to protect the residences from the western sun, keeping the houses cool in summer.
