The Priority Assessment Program accelerates projects that are either early in the assessment process or that may have been 'stuck' in the planning system for some time.
Projects identified for the program are case managed through to determination under a 'Service Charter' between the department and the proponent.
The goal is to speed up the process by providing ways to resolve issues. These issues may include oversight, scheduling and risks.
The case management approach reflects the complexity of the project and the issues to be resolved prior to an assessment decision. Inclusion in this Program doesn’t predetermine the assessment outcome and all projects are assessed in accordance with the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act 1979.
Projects for case management may include:

State significant development (SSD) and infrastructure (SSI) under case management in the Priority Assessment Program are estimated to contribute $28.28 billion economic value, 1922 dwellings and 37,765 jobs (22,268 construction and 10,697 operational), across 37 projects.

| M12 Motorway [Determined] | A new dual-carriageway motorway to connect the M7 Motorway with the Western Sydney Airport and The Northern Road. The motorway will be initially two lanes in each direction, with capacity for an additional future lane in each direction. |
| Inland Rail - North Star to NSW/Queensland Border [Determined] | The construction and operation of 30 kilometres of rail track and associated facilities between North Star and the NSW/Queensland border. |
| Inland Rail – Narromine to Narrabri [Determined] | This section of the Inland Rail project consists of approximately 300 km of new single track rail line, through private and public property in a “greenfield” environment between Narromine and Narrabri. |
| Inland Rail – Narrabri to North Star Phase 2 | Upgrade of approximately 15 km of the existing rail line track and track formation within the Narrabri to North Star corridor running from Moree north to beyond the Camurra Bypass, including the Mehi-Gwydir river crossings. |

| Project Energy Connect (NSW – Western Section) [Determined] | Development of a new 330 kV transmission line connecting the NSW and SA transmission networks (via Buronga substation) and upgrading the existing transmission line between Buronga substation and the NSW / Vic border. |

| Edmondson Park Public School [Determined] | Construction of a new primary designed to accommodate 1,000 students. The project will also provide facilities for 40 pre-school placements. |
| Googong Public School [Determined] | Construction of a new primary school in the new town of Googong that would have the capacity for 700 students and 60 staff following completion. |
| Murrumbateman Public School [Determined] | Construction of a new primary school facility to accommodate 550-720 students. The proposal is to be built in two stages to meet the anticipated gradual increase in student numbers. |
| North Sydney Public School [Determined] | Upgrades to increase the capacity of the school from 869 to 1,000 students, including the demolition of Blocks B, C, H and five demountable classrooms, the construction of two new buildings and the refurbishment of Blocks A, D, F and G. |
| Great Western Battery Energy Storage System | Development of a 500 MW battery energy storage facility with associated infrastructure. |
| Eden Street, Arncliffe Mixed Use Redevelopment [Determined] | Demolition of all existing buildings on site and the construction of a 4-tower mixed-use development including with residential, retail and childcare centre. |
| Royal Prince Alfred Hospital Redevelopment | Refurbishment of existing hospital spaces, a new hospital building and expanded and enhanced services. |

Works include new underground power station, tunnels, underground and overground water pipelines, surge tanks and intake and outlet structures, near Kangaroo Valley. |
| Wellington South BESS | Construction and operation of a BESS with a maximum storage capacity of 500 MW / 1000 MWh in the Central West and Orana Renewable Energy Zone (REZ). |
