In January 2017, the Minister for Planning approved the Sydney Metro City and Southwest – Chatswood to Sydenham project as a Critical State Significant Infrastructure (CSSI) project, which included the Victoria Cross Metro station.
Victoria Cross Metro station will be located beneath Miller Street, to the north of the Pacific Highway, North Sydney. The ‘Integrated Station Development’ for Victoria Cross will be made up of the Metro station and ‘Over Station Development' (OSD) project.
The development is identified as State Significant Development as it is within a rail corridor, associated with railway infrastructure and is for commercial premises with a Capital Investment Value of more than $30 million.
The project was granted approval by the Minister for Planning and Public Spaces as part of the Planning System Acceleration Program, introduced in response to the Government’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
